If your answer was yes, then read through this post to the end and get the exact guide you need in setting up your blogger blog the right way.
I see some beginners who head straight to blogger, input some random name and click on create a blog.
Next, their blog links look very ugly and spammy because it ends up having their name with a .blogspot.com attached to them.
If you have something like this, I’ll advise you have a rethink and follow this guide to properly set up your own blog. Let’s get started.
Step By Step Process Of How To Setup A Professional Blogger Blog.
To begin with, of course, is to choose a niche to blog about and make a short Descriptive name to use for your blog.
I have shared all the necessary steps and tips in this blog post. You can click here to check the post out so we save time.
Before setting up a professional blogger blog, we need to buy a custom domain. A custom domain is significant in making your blogger.com blog look professional.
It gives your blog its own branding and removes that .blogspot.com spammy-looking blog address.
1. PURCHASE A CUSTOM DOMAIN NAME FOR YOUR BLOGGER BLOG
I will assume you have already figured out your niche and have a descriptive name to register. So let’s say for this tutorial, we want to blog about a business Niche or make money online niche.
And I came up with the name real income hustle. So I head over to either Namecheap or namesilo to check if the domain is available for registration.
On the Namesilo homepage, you’ll see a search box there, type in the name you came up with and add any extension of your choice and click on “search domain” just like the image above.
After clicking on the “search domain” button, you should see your domain name with different types of extensions.
If you can grab a .com of your domain name, that will be excellent because it has been perceived that Google favors .com domains the most.
But if you are out of budget as a beginner and can’t get a .com domain, you can as well go with another domain extension.
But I strongly advise you to go with a .com or .net domain extension. It has more advantages over the other extensions.
So just Click on the domain name you want, click on the checkout button, and follow the instruction promptly by filling in your account information if it’s the first time you are buying a domain from them. But I already have an account with them.
On Namesilo you can make payments for your domain name with many options like Paypal, credit or debit cards, cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, etc.
For the sake of this tutorial, I registered a .us extension. e.g., realincomeinfo.us. So we will be using this domain to set up a professional blogger blog.
As you can see from the image above, I have paid for the domain which I circled with blue. I had to cover my other domains for privacy reasons.

2. OPEN AND CREATE A BLOGGER BLOG
Now that your domain is ready, the next thing to do is head over to blogger.com and create an account, then set up your blog.
In other to achieve this, you will need a Gmail account to be able to open a blogger blog because the blogger platform belongs to Google. I log in to my Gmail account on Chrome browser and head over to blogger.com
Next, click on the “Create Your Blog Button” Once you are signed into your Gmail account, it will ask you to authenticate with your Gmail account. Just choose your email.
The next page that opens up will ask you to “Choice A Name For Your Blog”, Enter the name of the blog. for this tutorial, I will Enter “Real Income Hustle”. Ignore the notice above the page or remove it entirely and click on next.
Then enter your blogger.com domain name which will look like this realincomehustle.blogspot.com.
Don’t worry we will change the realincomehustle.blogspot.com to the domain we bought which is realincomehustle.us. Just follow along.
And Finally, you add a display Name Which Will Be “REAL INCOME HUSTLE”. Then click on Finish.
See the images below.
As you can see, your blog is not fully Opened, next will be to link the custom domain we bought to it so it looks professional.
3. HOW TO LINK A CUSTOM DOMAIN TO A BLOGGER BLOG
This is the part where it gets a bit technical, many pay to get this done for them, but I’m about to teach you how to link your custom domain to your newly created blog.
So that instead of people visiting realincomehustle.blogspot.com, they will rather visit your custom domain which is realincomehustle.us or .com which looks more professional.
So in other to get this done, go back to the domain account and open up the domain section, then also open your blogger blog and head to the settings sections.
You’ll see “custom domain” from the image above I circled it. Click on it and add your custom domain, the one you bought. For this tutorial it’s www.realincomehustle.us
NOTE: Make sure when typing in your custom domain you bought, put www. at the beginning of the domain if not you won’t get the error message which is needed to link your domain name. See the image below.
Take note of this error message “We have not been able to verify your authority to this domain. On your domain registrar’s website, locate your Domain Name System (DNS) settings and enter the following two CNAMEs: (Name: www, Destination: ghs.google.com) and (Name: mvgwrdjdwavn, Destination: gv-xxrdtfalnzdroe.dv.googlehosted.com). See https://support.google.com/blogger/answer/1233387 for detailed instructions. Support page link “.
You can see the DNS information there which we will need to point to our domain name so Google can verify that the domain actually belongs to you.
Keep reading while I take you through the process of linking your custom domain name.
Open your domain providers’ account and head over to manage my domains. In our case, I will head over to namesilo.
On the homepage, click on my account and click on domain manager. You see your domain or list of domains you have, just click on that round blue ball that looks like a globe 🌏🌏. See the image below.
The DNS settings page will open where you will see the CNAMEs Record to update. It is so easy to do, just pay full attention and follow this tutorial carefully.
As you can see our DNS setting and different Records above the image like the A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT/SPF, SRV, and the CAA Records.
But we are more concerned about the Cname records. Just click on the Cname records. In my own case, I once added some Cname records of a service before.
So in this case, I’ll delete all the Cname records, and add the ones Google gave us in the error message above. You can see how I circled them in the image above. so let’s do it.
These Are the 2 Cname Records To Be Added👇👇
- HOSTNAME: www & TARGET HOSTNAME/DESTINATION: ghs.google.com
- HOSTNAME: mvgwrdjdwavn & TARGET HOSTNAME/DESTINATION: gv-xxrdtfalnzdroe.dv.googlehosted.com
You can see the 2 Cname Records have been added, so all you have to do is head over to blogger and click on save which was where we got the error message used to link our domain name.
Once you click on save on blogger, it might not work immediately, you’ll need to give it some time to propagate properly before it starts working normally with your custom domain.
Finally, our domain has been linked after just waiting for an hour. Next is to click on the redirect button which I circled in the image above. You need to do that so that once any visitor visits your custom domain address, it will take them to your blogger blog.
As you can see, people can now click on your custom domain www.realincomehustle.us to visit your blogger blog instead of www.realincomehustle.blogspot.com.
Again if you look above your domain link, you’ll notice that it does have an SSL. That is because you haven’t turned on the “HTTPS availability” button. So turn it on.
Your custom domain is now fully linked to Blogger and your SSL certificate is fully issued by Google. So now the next step is to customize your blogger blog.
4. HOW TO FULLY CUSTOMIZE YOUR BLOGGER BLOG
To customize your blog and make it look professional, you’ll need to install a blogger template just like the way you install a theme on WordPress.
But in this case, it’s a totally different approach entirely. You will need to download a free theme from Gooyaabitemplate. They have both free and paid templates.
For this tutorial, we will be working with the SORA NEWS 2.0 template. Just click on the download button to download the template.
Once the template is downloaded, you need to extract it with either the Winrar tool or any other tool to get the HTML file.
Then head over to Blogger under the theme section, click on the drop-down arrow, then Restore and upload the template file.
The blogger template has been uploaded successfully and from the images below, you can see there’s a new cool look to your blogger blog now.
Now all you need is to customize your navigation menu, and logo by getting a nice logo designed and added to your blogger blog, top header, sidebars, and socials icons, You can easily get those done under the layout sections.
,
Final Thought.
As you can see, setting up a professional blogger blog requires a bit of investment and time to get your blog looking nice and professional.
I believe if you follow this tutorial carefully, you will set up your own professional blogger blog and make it look cool and nice which will later turn into a money-making machine if you don’t give up on it.
